The Northern Lights, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. They can sometimes offer a soft green glow or put on a show with beautiful and colorful strands of dancing light. Having been in Fairbanks since September, I have only seen them a handful of times. Of those opportunities, I took the camera out and attempted to get some photos. There are some very unique challenges when photographing the Northern Lights and I have yet to master any of them. For example some photos are rather blurry because I have a hard time focusing in the dark. Nevertheless, here are a few of my latest attempts. I hope to be able to share more of them with you in the future!
Spring going into summer is always a wonderful time of year here in TX. Although we know the unbearable heat is on it’s way, it’s a relief to see the blooming flowers and the busy wildlife occupy our windows and yards throughout the days. It’s a lot of fun watching life spring up and flourish all around you. This spring we found a low hanging bird nest being built in a nearby tree. We checked for eggs from time to time and, low and behold, we found eggs! I tried to take photos daily, but missed a few days on account of travel. We learned a lot about the American Robin during their stay. We got to watch them grow, eat, and then leave!
So…without further adieu…

Love to hear the robin go tweet, tweet, tweet.” ♫♫♫
Seriously the most fun holiday of the year. Flags, fireworks, BBQ, and obnoxious Americans…what more could you want!? Amongst all of the patriotism and freedom I was able to snap a few photos. Have a look!
Why aren’t there any knock knock jokes about America?
…because freedom rings.
Happy ‘Murica Day
I had a great time last week shooting family photos for some friends of ours. They picked an unkept field with tall grass and weeds on the edge of town. You wouldn’t know it by the end result, but the field sat directly behind a truck stop on the interstate. The sun was shining through the clouds giving me the chance to capture some of my favorite shots. I may be breaking the rules, but I love shooting into the sun! You’ll see why below:
Last month I made a trip to Fairbanks in hopes to catch a glimpse of the coming years to be spent there. Alaska is a beautiful place that my lens has barely scratched the surface of. I wish we had more time there, but it’s not time to move yet! Keep up with us for future photos from the last frontier.
Here you are…
About a year ago I had the opportunity to shoot a friend’s bridals. This was a ton of fun! The bride made it so easy. She did a great job and I was very pleased with the end result. Stay tuned, there’s more to come!
